The present invention relates to a black tea composition and a process to prepare the same. The present invention addresses the problem of residue formation in the end cup for a tea product that has additives. It is an object of the present invention to provide a black tea product with additives which is substantially free from residue when reconstituted into a beverage. It is another object of the invention to provide a process for making a tea product with value added additives which does not involve granulation, and hence process complexity. The present inventors have surprisingly found that chicory granules of a specific particle size range when added to tea leaf ameliorate the problems relating to residue formation in end-cup and/or allow for a simpler process which does not have the complexity of a granulation process and/or does not require presence of further additives.Composition de thé noir et son procédé de fabrication. Linvention concerne plusieurs aspects : formation de résidus dans la tasse du consommateur lorsque le produit de thé contient des additifs mise au point dun produit de thé noir contenant des additifs qui est sensiblement exempt de résidus une fois reconstitué sous forme de boisson et utilisation dun procédé permettant dobtenir un produit de thé avec des additifs à valeur ajoutée sans faire intervenir une granulation, et partant, un processus complexe. On a découvert avec surprise que des granules de chicorée dans une plage de taille précise, ajoutées à la feuille de thé, atténuaient le problème des résidus dans la tasse et/ou permettaient dutiliser un processus plus simple ne présentant pas la complexité de la granulation et/ou nexigeant pas la présence dautres additifs.
