The cartomizer can include an annular fluid reservoir having an air flow channel therein； a liquid material within the fluid reservoir； and a heater, which surrounds the fluid reservoir and is operable to heat the fluid reservoir to a temperature sufficient to at least initially volatilize the liquid material contained within the fluid reservoir to form a saturated vapor within the air flow channel.
