An electronic blood pressure measurement device and method comprises a cuff with a measurement bladder inflatable by fluid, a pressure detection portion, and a circumferential length detection portion for detecting the circumferential length of a region for measurement based on a relative variation in the pressure detected by the pressure detection portion during winding the measurement bladder around the region for measurement after a predetermined amount of fluid has been supplied to and enclosed in the measurement bladder. The blood pressure measurement is adjusted and/or corrected based on the detected circumferential length.
