The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for inhibiting dendritic cells from maturing, comprising ellagic acid as an active ingredient and, more specifically, a pharmaceutical composition for inhibiting dendritic cells from maturing, comprising ellagic acid or pharmaceutically accepted salt thereof as an active ingredient, a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating autoimmune diseases and a healthy food product for preventing or improving autoimmune diseases. The ellagic acid of the present invention inhibits dendritic cells induced by lipopolysaccharide from maturing and, therefore, can be used for treating and preventing autoimmune diseases like lupus syndrome, siogren&prime；s syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis and type 1 diabetes for the public health.본 발명은 엘라그산을 유효성분으로 함유하는 수지상세포 성숙화 억제용 약학 조성물에 관한 것으로, 더욱 상세하게는 엘라그산 또는 이의 약학적으로 허용가능한 염을 유효성분으로 함유하는 수지상세포 성숙화 억제용 약학 조성물, 자가면역질환 예방 또는 치료용 약학 조성물 및 자가면역질환 예방 또는 개선용 건강식품에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 엘라그산(ellagic acid)의 경우 리포폴리사카라이드에 의해 유도되는 수지상세포의 성숙을 억제하므로, 루프스 증후군, 쇼그렌 증후군, 류마티스 관절염 및 제1형 당뇨병과 같은 자가면역질환 예방 및 치료용으로 소비자들의 건강에 유익하게 제공될 수 있다.
