The present invention relates to a composition for preventing, ameliorating or treating inflammatory diseases, comprising an extract of Canarium subulatum with an anti-inflammatory activity as an effective ingredient. A methanol extract of Canarium subulatum can effectively reduce cytokines produced by inflammatory reactions and the production of resulting reactants, and also inhibit the expression of signaling proteins involved in an immune activity. Furthermore, an effect of the extract on inhibiting inflammations has been confirmed even in an experiment on animals with induced gastritis, and thus it is expected that the extract can be useful in developing drug medicines and quasi-drug materials and also in related industries.본 발명은 항염증 활성을 갖는 카나리움 서부라텀(Canarium subulatum) 추출물을 유효성분으로 포함하는, 염증성 질환 예방, 개선 또는 치료용 조성물에 관한 것으로, 카나리움 서부라텀의 메탄올 추출물은 염증반응으로 생성되는 사이토카인과 그에 따른 반응물의 생성을 효과적으로 감소시킬 수 있으며 또한, 면역 활성에 관여하는 신호전달 단백질의 발현을 억제 시킬 수 있으며, 나아가 상기 추출물의 염증억제 효과는 위염을 유발한 동물실험에서도 확인되었는바 의약품, 의약부외품 소재 개발 및 관련 산업에 유용하게 이용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
