PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide compositions for preventing or treating diabetes utilizing tetraspanin-2 (TSPAN2).SOLUTION: The invention provides a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating diabetes comprising, as an effective component, an agent that inhibits expression or activity of TSPAN2 protein.
