The continuous infusion device (2) moreover has an actuator (30) for automatically emptying the infusion appliance (18), a drive (32) for moving a ram abutment/actuation element (24) of the actuator (30), and a control arrangement (72) by means of which a speed of advance of the actuator (30) is adjustable. Provision is made here that the main axis of extent (AA) of the infusion appliance seat (6) has a predetermined relief angle (W) in relation to a support plane (E) of the housing (4), and here the outlet-side end (28) is arranged above the ram-side end (26) of the infusion appliance seat (6).
