PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phantom for properly calibrating a spectrum calculated tomography (CT) system for various materials and various densities.SOLUTION: The phantom (72) includes a housing (74) enclosing an interior volume (76) and having a plurality of passages (78, 80) formed therein, wherein each of the passages (78, 80) is fluidly isolated from the interior volume (76). A first and second inserts (92-104) are included, which are configured to be positioned in first passages (78, 80) of the plurality of passages (78, 80) and include a material having a known material density. The material is selected from iodine, hydroxyapatite (HAP), tricalcium phosphate (TCP), body fat, fatty plaque, sodium chloride (NaCl), gold (Au), and iron (Fe).
