PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair cosmetic which can prevent the waving or curling of hair caused by the accumulation of the thermal degeneration of hair proteins due to the repeated uses of a high temperature hair-dressing tool, and is excellent in settability, set-sustainability and hair touch, when the hair is dressed with a high temperature hair-dressing tool and to provide a hair-dressing method using the hair cosmetic.SOLUTION: The hair cosmetic composition containing components (A) to (C), having a mass ratio (A)/(C) of 0.01-2, and having pH 2.0-4.5: (A) is a disaccharide comprising two glucose molecules bound to each other through a glycoside bond, (B) is a 2-6C monocarboxylic acid having a pKa of 3-4 or a di- or tri-carboxylic acid having a pKa1 of 3-4, and (C) is an organopolysiloxane in which poly(N-acylalkyleneimine) segments comprising repeating units represented by formula (1) are bound to at least two silicon atoms of an organopolysiloxane segment composing a main chain through a hetero atom-containing alkylene group.
