1. A composition containing nanoparticles comprising albumin and a substantially water insoluble pharmacologically active agent in which prion protein is substantially absent. The composition according to claim 1, which is characterized by prion infectivity of less than about 100 fg / ml or less than about 10 units / ml or both.
