TITLE: A METHOD FOR DIAGNOSING DIABETIC PHRENIC NEUROPATHY APPLICANT: SREE BALAJI MEDICAL COLLEGE & HOSPITAL, BIHER- BHARATH UNIVERSITY ABSTRACT The present invention discloses a method for diagnosing diabetic phrenic neuropathy in subjects with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The diagnosing method comprises of obtaining values of duration of diabetic, blood sugar level, nerve conduction velocity both latency and amplitude of phrenic nerve, and pulmonary test function parameters comprising of FVC, MVV, PEFR of the subject. Then correlating FVC and latency of phrenic nerve conduction MVV and latency of phrenic nerve conduction PEFR and latency of phrenic nerve conduction duration of Diabetes and nerve conduction velocity blood sugar level & phrenic nerve latency and median nerve conduction velocity and phrenic nerve conduction velocity using SPSS Pearson correlation analysis. Obtaining significant negative correlation values indicates presence of diabetic phrenic neuropathy and alternately obtaining positive correlation values indicates absence of diabetic phrenic neuropathy.
