The patch against ionizing radiation is a specific device designed to attenuate and reduce the emerging radiation from the sources placed or implanted in the eye of patients who require ophthalmic brachytherapy treatment, in order to reach radiation levels in the vicinity of the patient below the established dose limits. # It consists of a reusable patch with a concave shape that allows it to adapt to the eye's orbit and decreases the emission of radiation both frontally and laterally. # The ocular projection against ionizing radiation is intended to be placed directly on the gauze or patches that protect the newly intervened eye from the outside. It is fastened by means of adhesive tapes or bands for clinical use. # Normally it consists of three layers of material to absorb radiation although at least it will have one that acts as protection and can have more than three if different materials are combined.El parche contra radiaciones ionizantes, es un dispositivo específico pensado para atenuar y disminuir la radiación emergente de las fuentes colocadas o implantadas en el ojo de pacientes que requieren tratamiento de braquiterapia oftálmica, con el fin de alcanzar unos niveles de radiación en las proximidades del paciente por debajo de los límites de dosis establecidos.#Consiste en un parche reutilizable con una forma cóncava que permite adaptarse a la orbita del ojo y disminuye la emisión de radiación tanto frontal como lateralmente.#La proyección ocular contra radiaciones ionizantes, está pensada para ser colocada directamente sobre las gasas o parches que protegen al ojo recién intervenido del exterior.
