A soil loosening tine 10 comprises a body 12, a soil contacting tip 18 and wings 22 extending transversely relative to the tip. At least one of the wings 22 comprises a carrier 34 extending from the body 12 and two slats 32 mounted on the carrier 34. Each slat has leading and trailing edges an inner and outer sides. The trailing portions of the slats are angled relative to a plane defined by the remainder of the slat. ( Fig.4 ).
