The present invention relates to compositions comprising matrix metalloproteinase- 13 (MMP-13) or resolving phenotype macrophages expressing it, for use in the treatment of spinal cord injury, and to methods for treating spinal cord injury by administering MMP-13 or macrophages expressing it.
