PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a walking support device having excellent safety, the walking support device inhibiting a user from coming into contact with an end of expansion/contraction means at the time of walking supporting.SOLUTION: Standing motion support means comprises support means 7 and expansion/contraction means. The support means comprises: a left post 71 having a lower end connected to the left side of a base 2 via a hinge 74a so as to be rotatable in the front-back direction； a right post 72 having a lower end connected to the right side of the base 2 via a hinge 74a so as to be rotatable in the front-back direction； and a connection part 79 connecting the left post and the right post. The expansion/contraction means (cylinder 8) is positioned in front of the connection part 79, the expansion/contraction means having a lower end connected to the front side of the base 2 via a hinge 83 so as to be rotatable in the front-back direction and an upper end connected to a front surface of the connection part 79 via a hinge 84 so as to be rotatable in the front-back direction.
