The present invention relates to compositions consisting of: (a) at least one ethylene-releasing compound, and (b) at least one fatty acid ester, alone or in combination with one or more excipients, vehicles or additives, and/or (c) one or more noxious agents. The invention also relates to the use of said composition and to methods for controlling parasitic plants and/or hemiparasitic plants that cause infestations in certain trees. The composition of the invention is characterized in that it exhibits a high degree of adhesion to the parasitic and/or hemiparasitic plant, is selective and acropetal, and has excellent stability and water-impermeability, allowing the prolonged and constant release of ethylene.La presente invención se refiere a composiciones que consisten en (a) al menos un compuesto liberador de etileno, y (b) al menos un éster de ácido graso, solos o en combinación con uno o más excipientes, vehículos o aditivos y/o (c) uno o más agentes de daño； el uso de dicha composición y métodos para el control de plantas parásitas y/o hemiparásitas que infestan a ciertos árboles. Las composiciones objeto de la presente invención se caracterizan por presentar una elevada adherencia a la planta parásita y/o hemiparásita, selectiva y direccional acropétala con excelente estabilidad e impermeabilidad al agua que permite la liberación prolongada y constante del etileno.
