The present invention provides: a coating preparation which does not produce an unpleasant odor or minimizes unpleasant odor by suppressing the discharge of diacetyl from the preparation； and a coating composition therefor. The present invention pertains to: a coating preparation obtained by coating a solid preparation, which contains a drug having a medoxomil group as the active ingredient thereof in the formulation, with a coating composition containing one or more inorganic compounds selected from a group consisting of a silicic acid compound, calcium hydrogen phosphate, magnesium oxide, calcium carbonate, and medicinal carbon； and a coating composition therefor.
