<；P>；PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which can surely prevent side leakage through its surface, can visualize its effect against side leakage prevention in appearance, reduces the feeling of incompatibility by being easily fitted to the body, and makes the touch to the skin soft. <；P>；SOLUTION: In a sanitary napkin 1 in which an absorbent body 4 is interposed between a liquid-permeable surface sheet 3 and a liquid-impermeable back surface sheet 2 and side nonwoven fabrics 7 and 7 are disposed respectively along the longitudinal direction at both side parts of the surface, embossing of composite wavy lines in which the roughly simple harmonic waveform of a relatively short cycle is piled up on the roughly simple harmonic waveform of a relatively long cycle is practically imparted respectively to the side nonwoven fabrics 7 from the surface side so as to be along the longitudinal direction of the napkin 1, go back and forth over the side end edge of the absorbent body 4 and be line-symmetrical to the longitudinal direction center line CL of the napkin 1.
