The methods, compositions and kits utilize at least one agent, the at least one agent being capable of exhibiting at least two activities selected from the group consisting of: a) inhibiting CD 14 activity and/or a signaling pathway associated with CD 14 activity； b) inhibiting TLR2 activity and/or a signaling pathway associated with TLR2 activity； and c) inhibiting monocyte chemotaxis.
