The invention relates to a device for detecting insects which comprises, as main elements, an inner chamber having a temperature higher than the exterior temperature, and a passive infrared sensor that emits an alarm signal when it detects a change of temperature in the inner chamber caused by the presence of an animal, for example, an insect. The device is therefore very useful for monitoring insects in a particular area and subsequently taking action to eradicate same.
