The present invention relates to a skin-whitening composition containing a fermented Stachys japonica Miq. extract fermented by using Hericium erinaceus (Bull.) Pers. mycelium as an active ingredient. More specifically, the hot water extract of the fermented Stachys japonica Miq. fermented by using the Hericium erinaceus (Bull.) Pers. Mycelium has almost no cytotoxicity in comparison with hot water extracts of Stachys japonica Miq, and remarkably inhibits activities of tyrosinase, thereby being safe and useful for drugs and health functional foods for preventing, ameliorating, or treating hyperpigmentation by melanin or cosmetic products for skin whitening.본 발명은 노루궁뎅이버섯 균사체를 이용하여 발효시킨 초석잠 추출물의 발효물을 유효성분으로 함유하는 피부 미백용 조성물에 관한 것으로, 더욱 상세하게는 본 발명의 노루궁뎅이버섯 균사체를 이용하여 발효시킨 초석잠 열수 추출물의 발효물은 초석잠 열수 추출물에 대비하여 세포독성이 거의 없으며, 티로시나아제의 활성을 현저하게 저해시키므로 피부 미백을 위한 화장품 또는 멜라닌 색소 과다 침착 질환의 예방, 개선 또는 치료를 위한 건강기능식품 및 의약품에 안전하고 유용하게 이용될 수 있다.
