A hinge pin joint for performing accurate spacing of a set of spring clips, comprising: a base cylinder having a threaded bore； A support extending laterally from the base cylinder； A pin support having pivot means； And hinges extending from the support. In one embodiment, the pivot means includes a pin that is made integral with the pin support and extends laterally. In an alternative embodiment, the pin support includes an alignment opening into which a pin is inserted. At least one stopper can be disposed on at least one of the pin supports, and the stopper helps to support the upper shell.
