A door knocker for use by a cat for requesting entry into a house. Thisknocker comprises a mounting block attached to a door surface; alongitudinal spring having a first end mounted to the mounting blockand a second end extending vertically downward from the first end. Ahardwood ball is mounted to the second end. The ball is held at aknocking distance from the door surface. A string with loose frayedends is attached to the second end of the spring near the ball. A catcoming near the door knocker is attracted to the string with frayed endsand instinctively starts to play with the string to operate the doorknocker into a series of repetitive door knocks. The door knockeraccording to the present invention does not require any significantphysical or mental effort from a cat.
