The present invention relates to ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) articles comprising a porous UHMWPE polymer structure with an at least trimodal pore distribution and to a process for its preparation which comprises using at least a porogen agent as well as a solvent for generating the porosity. The resulting UHMWPE-type polymer article is well suited for medical implants and/or scaffolds among other applications.La présente invention concerne des articles en polyéthylène à ultra-haut poids moléculaire (PE-UHPM) comprenant une structure polymère poreuse en PE-UHPM présentant une distribution des pores au moins trimodale et son procédé de préparation qui consiste à utiliser au moins un agent porogène, ainsi qu'un solvant pour générer la porosité. L'article polymère de type PE-UHPM ainsi obtenu convient particulièrement pour des implants et/ou des échafaudages médicaux, entre autres applications.
