The insect trap further has one or more light sources for attracting the insect into the housing. The insect trap has a camera with a lens. The lens has a front element. The camera is positioned to capture an image of the sticky board when the sticky board is received in the sticky board receiving space. There is no line of sight between the light source or each light source and the front element of the lens. This can prevent light from the light source or each light source from reaching the front element directly.
