The apparatus includes a setting unit in which is installed an interstitial fluid collector that collects interstitial fluid, a glucose sensor for acquiring a signal reflecting the amount of the measurement target component contained in the interstitial fluid when in a state of contact with the interstitial fluid collector, and a moving unit that brings the glucose sensor into contact with the interstitial fluid collector installed in the setting unit by changing the relative position between the setting unit and the glucose sensor to a predetermined positional relationship.
