The present invention relates to a method for continuously sterilizing a liquid product which comprises conducting a liquid product to be sterilized through a conduit, causing the temperature of the liquid product to increase by means of successive heat exchangers putting said liquid product in thermal contact with the already sterilized liquid increasing the temperature of the liquid product to be sterilized to sterilization temperatures and maintaining them for a holding time sufficient to assure correct sterilization the already sterilized liquid product is then cooled giving off part of its heat to the liquid to be sterilized by means of said successive heat exchangers the liquid product is subsequently cooled to temperatures close to room temperature by means of heat exchange with water at room temperature it is then cooled below room temperature by means of thermal contact with the liquid product to be sterilized and it is finally cooled to the storage temperature by means of passage thereof through a second heat exchanger cooled by means of energy.
