Provided are: a water-absorbing resin that can reduce the amount of backflow of the liquid being absorbed, even when the water-absorbing resin is used at a low content in an absorbent body； and an absorbent article that uses an absorbent body that contains the absorbent resin. The water-absorbing resin is a crosslinked polymer from water-soluble ethylenically unsaturated monomer and has a dry-up index, as given by formula (1), of at least 1.85. The overall absorption capacity term α and the water absorption rate term β in formula (1) are given by formulas (2) and (3).La présente invention concerne : une résine absorbant l'eau qui peut réduire la quantité de reflux du liquide qui est absorbé, même lorsque la résine absorbant l'eau est utilisée sous une faible teneur dans un corps absorbant ； et un article absorbant qui utilise un corps absorbant qui contient la résine absorbante.
