PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To actualize a high-function adjustment layer in an array of transducers which can restrict lateral vibrations, improve directional characteristics, make processability favorable and moreover cause ultrasonic attenuation problems less likely to occur.
SOLUTION: A composite matching layer 16 includes a plurality of matching devices 17 and a plurality of separators 18. These two have an equal acoustic impedance, provided that the matching devices 17 are each made of a non-rubber based high molecular material, while the separators 18 are each of a rubber-based material. That is, the matching device 17 is larger than the separator 18 in elastic modulus. Some of the matching devices 17 can continue to one another. The composite matching layer 16 can have an additional thin layer formed on the organism side.
