PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming planting for solving the problems of a method for forming planting using a conventional planting base, for instance, forming planting of ground cover such as lawn in an extremely short period, especially on a place asking for greening, such as a building rooftop, an asphalt road surface side or other places, and effectively usable for achieving greening in the place.
SOLUTION: This method for forming planting includes performing planting formation by spreading over a desired surface to be constructed, a plurality of unit-type planting bases which include at least a planting base forming body made by filling the inside of a cylinder made of knitted fabric, textile, or unwoven cloth with culture products, and ground cover taking root in the culture products in the planting base forming body and integrated with the planting base forming body to cover one surface of the planting base forming body, and in which the outer outline is shape retained by a mold form, and a planting base forming body surface area covered by the ground cover is 0.1-1.1 m
