A system for optimizing guide values (30), particularly in the field of infant nutrition by breast milk and/or in the field of medical drainage, has at least one first data set (1) which comprises at least one first data group (10) assigned to a first target group (A). The system also has a second data set (2) which comprises at least one second data group (20) assigned to a second target group (B). First data of the first target group (A) are stored in the at least one first data group (10) and second data of the second target group (B) are stored in the at least one second data group. A data processing unit (3) is used to process the first and second data and to output the guide values (30) to the second target group (B). The data processing unit (3) is designed to receive new data generated as a result of the guide values (30) being output to the second target group (B) and as a result of these guide values (30) being applied in the second target group (B), and to transform the first data set (1) on the basis of these new data with the aim of optimizing future guide values (30).
