SOLUTION: A pet excrement treatment material 20 contains 70.0% by mass or more and 98.9% by mass or less of a crushed product of a plant-derived material, and 1.0% by mass or more and 29.9% by mass or less of a synthetic resin. It contains 0.1% by mass or more and 5.0% by mass or less of a water-insoluble inorganic substance. The water-insoluble inorganic substance has an average particle size of 0.01 μm or more and 1 μm or less, a BET specific surface area of 3 m2 / g or more and 100 m2 / g or less, and a ratio of the BET specific surface area to the average particle size of 5 × 106 m / g.
