A curtain sanitizer device and method, such as for use in the healthcareindustry,is disclosed that can sanitize at least a portion of the surface of a hungcurtain, e.g. aprivacy curtain, by directing UV-C light thereat to kill or inactivate harmfulmicroorganisms thereon that can cause infectious disease, thereby reducing therisk ofspreading infectious disease. In one example, at least a portion of oppositesurfaces orsides of the hung curtain can be simultaneously sanitized. The curtainsanitizer deviceand method can allow the curtain to be cleaned in place, and can be easier touse andless costly and time consuming than other currently available methods anddevices.
