PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underpants type clothing article easy to open, easy to wear, hardly forming bedsore on a wearer while wearing, easy to see a fusion part of a side seal part, and easy to tear off after using.SOLUTION: An underpants type clothing article 1 is formed with a pair of side seal parts 4 by joining in a principal-rafter-like form a marginal part A1 of an exterior body 3 of a front body F and a marginal part B1 of an exterior body 3 of a back body R. The side seal part 4 is formed by joining the marginal parts A1 and B1 by the irradiation of laser beam in a continuous linear fusion part 40 extending in a direction in which the side seal parts 4 extend. The side seal part 4 has a shape in which an outer edge 4a of the fusion part 40 is recessed toward the inner side, in a cross section orthogonal to a direction in which the side seal part 4 in a natural state extends, and one of the end parts of an end part 40F on the front body F side and an end part 40R on the back body R side of the fusion part 40 projects outward.【課題】開き易く、履き易いと共に、着用中に着用者に褥瘡が形成され難く、サイドシール部の融着部が分かり易く、使用後に引き裂き易いパンツ型着用物品を提供すること。【解決手段】パンツ型着用物品１は、前身頃Ｆの外装体３の側縁部Ａ１と後身頃Ｒの外装体３の側縁部Ｂ１とが合掌状に接合されて一対のサイドシール部４が形成されている。サイドシール部４は、レーザー光の照射によって、側縁部Ａ１，Ｂ１どうしが、サイドシール部４が延びる方向に延在する連続線状の融着部４０で結合してなる。サイドシール部４は、自然状態におけるサイドシール部４が延びる方向と直交する断面において、融着部４０の外縁４ａが内方に向かって窪んだ形状を有しており、融着部４０の前身頃Ｆ側の端部４０Ｆ及び後身頃Ｒ側の端部４０Ｒの何れか一方の端部が、外方に向かって突出している。【選択図】図３
