602626 Disclosed are an arrangement for generating oxygen in a medical facility and methods for operating and installing an arrangement in a medical facility. Smaller medical facilities require higher investment costs to install and utilise such arrangements for generating oxygen. Furthermore, the arrangements have poor consumption figures. The arrangement comprises at least one unit for generating medical air (V, R) a vacuum system (VS) and a pressure swing adsorption (PSA) unit (A). The vacuum system (VS) and PSA unit (A) are interconnected and serve to generate an oxygen product stream (5). The connection between the vacuum system (VS) and PSA unit (A) allows the adsorbers of the PSA unit (A) to be regenerated by the vacuum system (VS). The unit for generating medical air (V, R) is connected to the PSA unit (A) in such a way that at least a subsidiary stream (2) of the generated medical air is delivered as feed gas to the PSA unit (A).
