A titanium material for a separator of a solid high-polymer fuel cell according to the present invention is provided with: a base material formed of industrial pure titanium; a first oxide layer that is formed at the surface layer of the titanium material, that is formed of rutile-type crystalline TiO2, and that has a thickness of 0.1 to 1.5 nm; and a second oxide layer that is formed between the base material and the first oxide layer, that is formed of TiOx (1 < x < 2), and that has a thickness of 3 to 20 nm. This titanium material is suitable for use in a separator that exhibits high corrosion resistance in the environment inside a solid high-polymer fuel cell, that can maintain low contact resistance with respect to electrodes formed of carbon fibers or the like, and that is inexpensive.
