PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antioxidant and a hypertension inhibitor which comprise a fermentation treated product of Zizania latifolia.
SOLUTION: The antioxidant and the hypertension inhibitor comprise a fermentation treated product of Zizania latifolia. Compared to an extract of Zizania latifoia, the fermentation treated product of Zizania latifolia has a superior anti-oxidant action and angiotensin converting enzyme inhibition effects and has exhibited hypertension inhibition effects. The fermentation treated product of Zizania latifolia has also exhibited an excellent antihypertensive action on rats. A food or a drug comprising the same has exhibited safe and excellent hypertension inhibition effects.
