PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a columnar upright body with snake climb preventing function which can effectively prevent a snake from climbing without using an adhesive material or a repellent by only a physical structure, and can also prevent a snake from climbing without a necessity of additionally installing a net-shaped material to an electric pole.SOLUTION: An inverted truncated cone part 3 is integrally installed around the outer circumferential wall of a columnar upright body (electric pole 1) in a manner that the cone part 3 has a conical tapered part 4 whose distance from the axial core S of the columnar upright body becomes longer as it goes toward upward, and whose longitudinal side is inclined downward with respect to a horizontal line.
