PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the operation over a limited position even if a limit switch fails.SOLUTION: The human body supporting device has the limit switch 31 for detecting the limited positions of operation of a back bottom 5, a knee bottom and a leg bottom, and an encoder 33 for detecting the rotational frequencies of motors 17, 19, 21 and 23. A controller 25 may stop the driving control when the limit switch 31 detects the limiting positions, or when the rotational frequencies detected by the encoder 33 are preset values or in the preset range set according to the limiting positions.
