SOLUTION: This cerebral function-improving agent is characterized by containing the specific ingredient of Ganoderma atrum. The specific ingredient is a substance exhibiting the maximum absorption peak at 280 to 330 nm and containing an aromatic ring in the molecule. The solution of the ethyl acetate-soluble content of this ingredient is colorable. This ingredient has an action for inhibiting acetylcholine esterase and prolyl endopeptidase, and is useful for improving cerebral functions.
