The present invention relates to antibodies against human 5T4 tumor fetal antigens and to corresponding antibody-drug conjugates suitable for testing in clinical trials. The antibody is cross reactive to human and cynomolgus monkeys and exhibits affinity for the cynomolgus monkey 5T4 antigen and affinity for the human 5T4 antigen of about the same order of magnitude.
