PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sterilizing/deodorizing unit which can have a sufficient sterilizing/deodorizing effect even if an ozone generation amount is reduced by increasing the decomposing efficiency when ozone is decomposed into active oxygen by using an ultraviolet ray, and to provide a heating apparatus having the sterilize/deodorizing function.
SOLUTION: This sterilizing/deodorizing unit sterilizes or deodorizes air and includes a sucking section 1, a treating section 2, and a blowing-out section 3. The sucking section 1 sucks air. The treating section 2 sterilizes or deodorizes the sucked air. The blowing-out section 3 blows out the sterilized or deodorized air. The treating section 2 has a ventilation passage 8 in which an ozone generating section 6 and an ultraviolet light source 7 are placed. In a position at least facing the internal side of the wall portion of the ventilation passage 8 in which the air containing ozone generated from the ozone generating section 6 flows, a reflecting section 10 which repeatedly reflects the ultraviolet ray radiated from the ultraviolet light source 7 to the ozone-contained air is formed.
