A milking system comprises: a mobile platform configured to move within adairybarn between positions from which cows may be accessed and milked； a milkingrobot mountedon the mobile platform and configured to access and milk a cow secured in atie stall or a feedingstation of the dairy barn； and a controller system configured to controloperation of the mobileplatform and the milking robot.
