PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop an inexpensive sterilizer and a sterilizing method using the same using a batch processing method, having a stable ability of sterilizing without causing quality deterioration, excellent in detergency, and suitable for handling a small quantity and a wide range of a particulate substance.
SOLUTION: The sterilizing body 3 has a jacket 2 on its outer surface and and has a structure to heat the sterilizing body 3 from outside by supplying pressurized steam S1 into a sealed space 2a between the jacket 2 and the sterilizing body 3. The sterilizing body 3 has an air hole 43a to allow an actuation gas to communicate with the inner area in the pressure container 1 and can heat the whole sterilizing body 3 contacting with the object to be sterilized, preheat the object to be sterilized with the conductive heat from the sterilizing body 3, sterilize with the actuation gas and prevent dew condensation on the inner surface of the sterilizing body 3. The sterilizer can also dry with the conductive heat from the sterilizing body 3 and supply and discharge of the compressed air A.
