The disclosure relates to a frozen dessert containing plant-derived microfibrillated cellulose, wherein said plant-derived microfibrillated cellulose has at least a specific surface area of 150 m2/g or larger or water retention of 500% or more. Alternatively, the cellulose may have a rate of sedimentation of 1500 ml/g or more when in the form of a water dispersion having a microfibrillated cellulose content of 0.05% by weight or a light transmission of 40% or more at a wavelength of 600 nm when in the form of a water dispersion having a microfibrillated cellulose content of 0.02% by weight.
