PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To narrow the mounting area of a seed disinfector for heating seeds with hot water to disinfect the seeds.SOLUTION: In a state that a raw material M is received in a conveying basket 68, in a hot water disinfector 10, the conveying basket 68 is conveyed in a hot water tank 18 to disinfect the raw material M with hold water 20, and then is conveyed in a cold water tank 28 to cool the raw material M with cold water 30. Herein, the hot water tank 18 is a vertical type tank, and the vertical direction maximum dimensions of the inner and outer portions of the hot water tank 18 are larger than the horizontal direction maximum dimensions, respectively. In addition, the cold water tank 28 is a vertical type and the vertical direction maximum dimensions of the inner and outer portions of the cold water tank 28 are also larger than the horizontal direction maximum dimensions, respectively.
