An animal handling arrangement is disclosed for determining &acy gut fill level of the rumen of an animal (10). The system comprises &acy three-dimensional camera (11) arranged to be directed towards the animal and an image processing device (12) connected to the camera for automatically analysing the image, determining the gut level and supply the herd management system with the determined gut fill level . The three-dimensional camera is located in &acy station where the animal is forced to stand still and is located on the left side of the animal at &acy height above the rumen triangle (10&acy) of the animal.
