Described are methods and systems to remind the patient to replace the infusion set by using not only the elapsed time since the last infusion set change, but also in the number of therapy events such as basal changes, correction boluses, drug sensitivity (ISF) changes and drug to carbohydrate ratio (I:C) changes upon detection of high analyte concentration over a defined period of time as an indicator that a set replacement is recommended.
