The present invention relates to the field of protein production in recombinant form using a synthetic gene for high protein expression in Pichia pa.storis. More specifically, the invention describes the production of Sm14 Schistosoma mansoni protein in recombinant form, where a synthetic gene for high expression of the Sm14 protein was created and with which the Pichia pastoris strain was genetically engineered to effectively produce a vaccine. A presente invenção esta relacionada ao campo de produção de proteínas em forma recombinante utilizando um gene sintético para a alta expressão da proteína em Pichia pa.storis. Mais especificamente, a invenção descreve a produção de proteína Sm14 Schistosoma mansoni em forma recombinante, onde foi criado um gene sintético para alta expressão da proteína Sm14 e com ele foi obtida e manipulada geneticamente a cepa de Pichia pastoris para produzir uma vacina eficazmente. Também foram aperfeiçoados os processos para produzir e purificar esta proteína a partir das células de P. pastoris, que podem ser escalonados para sua produção industrial.
