PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter element which excels not only in dehumidification efficiency but also in moisture releasing efficiency and capable of recovering hygroscopic performance quickly.SOLUTION: A filter element for gas is made of a high water absorption fiber containing a high water absorption polymer and a crimped synthetic fiber, and made of a dry type nonwoven fabric in which fibers are combined by a thermal fusion fiber. It is preferable that weighted average fiber length of the fiber configuring the dry type nonwoven fabric is within a range of 0.5-20 mm, and the dry type nonwoven fabric is made to be a nonwoven fabric laminated body in which, at least on one surface, different nonwoven fabrics are laminated via a thermal fusion adhesive agent.
